Florida Jack and Jill Championship Series Rules (FJJCS)

  1. Your entry in the WSDC Jack and Jill will count as your entry in to the FJJCS at each event within the series.
  2. No minimum couple requirement is required per division.
  3. A person may only gain points as a lead or a follow, in a levelled division, per event.
  4. A person may gain points in a non-age division one time per event.
  5. A person will dance in whatever division matches their WSDC division.
    1. WSDC graduation within the series year allows for you to move up, see “Graduation Within the Year,” section below.
  6. Qualifications:
    1. Novice

    2. Intermediate

    3. Advanced
      1. See WSDC Regulations
    4. Masters
      1. See WSDC Regulations
  7. Scoring (Rules to follow WSDC guidelines)
    1. Preliminary Round (if required):
      1. Points will be awarded for anyone not entering the semi-final round based on preliminary round judges scores.
        1. Those that do not move on to the final round will be provided a point for each person they place ahead of out of the original total number of competitors.
          1. Ie: if you place 15th out of 20 dancers, you will receive 5 points.
          2. These points are based on individual placement and not partner placement.
    2. Semi-Finals Round (if required):
      1. Points will be awarded for anyone not entering the final round based on semi-final round judges scores.
        1. Those that do not move on to the final round will be provided a point for each person they place ahead of out of the original total number of competitors.
          1. Ie: if you place 15th out of 20 dancers, you will receive 5 points.
          2. These points are based on individual placement and not partner placement.
    3. Final Round:
      1. You will be provided a point for each person you place ahead of out of the original number of competitors.
        1. Ie: If a division has 20 leads and 40 followers and you place 10th as a couple the leader will receive 10 points and the follower will receive 30 points.
    4. Final placement in series
      1. An average will be taken of your total points and the total number of events in the series.
        1. Ie:
          1. Total points: 120
          2. Events in series: 3
          3. Final points assessment: 120/3 = 40 points.
  8. Events to receive points:
    1. Swing Over Orlando
      1. March 24th to 26th, 2017
    2. River City Swing
      1. August 31st to September 4th, 2017
    3. Florida Westie Fest
      1. November 3rd to 5th, 2017
  9. Points and Placement Recording
    1. Points average and ranking will be posted on Facebook and on www.floridadanceevents.com.
    2. Points and rank will be adjusted after each event.
    3. Final points and ranking will be announced and posted at Florida Westie Fest at the conclusion of the event as well as posted on Facebook and on www.floridawestiefest.com.
  10. Graduation Within the Year
    1. If you graduate from one WSDC division to the next within the year your points will be adjusted.  The adjustment will be assigned so that you will move down 1 placement in the graduated in to division and then you will receive the points based on the quantity of dancers in that division.
    2. Example
      1. You are a Novice Dancer at SOO.
      2. Novice Placement: 3rd out of 20, therefor you receive 17 points at the novice level.
      3. You graduate to Intermediate for RCS.
        1. Intermediate at SOO had 30 competitors.
        2. Your new placement is 4th out of 30, therefor you receive 26 points at the intermediate level.
      4. You compete in Intermediate at RCS and place 30th out of 60, therefor you receive 30 points at the intermediate level.
      5. Your points total after RCS will be 56 points.
      6. Your average is 18.667.
    3. Due to All Stars not being a required advancement division within the year, if you choose to graduate to All Stars, then you may lose your ability to dance in the series at the future events.
  11. Prizes.
    1. There will be combined prize money for the top 3 placements for the winners of the series.
    2. The series winners will also be crowned as the Florida J&J Series Champions for that year.
    3. Additional prizes may be awarded and could be inclusive of:
      1. Championship Jacket
      2. Crystal Trophy
      3. Event Passes
      4. Gift Certificates
